Canadians Against Cyber Fraud Foundation is a registered Alberta non-profit based in Calgary.
Our mission is to protect Canadians from cyber fraud, online scams, and digital exploitation through education, awareness, and policy advocacy.
We serve the general Canadian public, with extra care for seniors and non-technical users. We use plain language, careful design, and practical examples.
We are an independent non-profit. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with the Government of Canada or any of its departments.
We may point visitors to official reporting services, but those services are separate from the Foundation.
The Foundation grew out of graduate research at the University of Calgary on protecting Canadian seniors from cyber fraud. Shah Zaib and Harshad Krishnaraj co-authored a paper on education, awareness, and policy solutions for seniors facing online fraud.
That work was recognized through the National Student Paper Competition. After the competition and public service conversations in Ottawa, the founders wanted to turn research into something practical for everyday Canadians.
The result is a Calgary-based non-profit focused on clear education, community awareness, and policy advocacy. The goal is simple: make scam prevention easier to understand and easier to share.
